Utricularia - Bladderwort

A generic image
Tropical Bladderworts love warm temperatures, bright light, and lots of water. The plants may not look like much, That's because all the action is happening in the soil. All Utricularia are carnivorous and capture small organisms by means of bladder-like traps along the roots. So, while there is little action happening amongst the foliage above, all the action is happening below the soil surface. Many Bladderworts are collected simply for their miniature orchid like flowers.
